Upload Compliance Files to Datto Workplace

Datto Workplace is a security-focused enterprise file sync and share system. Once you complete your Compliance Manager GRC assessment and generate reports, you can upload those files to Datto Workplace for secure storage. Once uploaded, other Datto Workplace users can access and make use of your compliance documentation. This topic covers how to enable the integration.

Step 1 – Enable API Integration in Datto Workplace

  1. First, enable the Compliance Manager GRC in Datto Workplace. See the "How to" in this topic for complete instructions.
  2. Copy the Endpoint URL, Client ID, and Client Secret for the integration to your clipboard. You will need these to establish the connection with Compliance Manager GRC.

Step 2 – Enable Datto Workplace Integration

  1. From your Compliance Manager GRC site, navigate to Compliance Manager GRC > Settings > IT Complete.
  2. Scroll down to Datto Workplace Integration. Activate the slider.
  3. Select Compliance File Storage under PII Data Feed.
  4. Enter the URL, Client ID, and Secret Key that you copied earlier. Click Verify to test the connection and receive and Success notification.

  5. From the Upload Reports to drop-down menu, select the Project that you shared with the API Integration. This is the Project where you will upload Compliance Manager GRC Files.

  6. When you're finished setting up the connection, click Save.

Step 3 – Upload Reports to Datto Workplace

  1. Next, navigate to Compliance Manager GRC > Results & Evidence > Reports.
  2. When you first enable the integration with Datto Workplace, your reports will not be uploaded. To upload reports:
    • Upload reports individually: Choose a report, and click Re-Upload. The report will be uploaded to Datto Workplace.

    • Upload all reports: Click Regenerate Reports.

      • Once your reports regenerate, they will all be uploaded to Datto Workplace.

    Documents that are uploaded to Datto Workplace will appear with a blue cloud icon.

    Documents that are not uploaded, or that have been changed or modified in Datto Workplace, will appear with a blue cloud icon with a red circle.

How Compliance Manager GRC handles changes to files in Datto Workplace

  • When you generate or regenerate Compliance Manager GRC reports, such as after you change your assessment responses, the new report(s) will be reuploaded to Datto Workplace. This will overwrite the previous reports in Datto Workplace.
  • If you edit or delete a file in Datto Workplace, it will be desynchronized with Compliance Manager GRC. You have the option to reupload the original file from Compliance Manager GRC from Results & Evidence > Reports.
