Q. What’s included in Network Detective Pro?
A. You get everything included in the old five IT Assessment legacy modules, including Network Assessment, Security Assessment, Exchange Assessment, SQL Assessment, and MS Cloud Assessment; plus all of the Reporter automation functionality (including InDoc); plus many new infographic reports, Layer 2/3 diagrams, and others (see them all, here). You also get many new features, including the ability to omit or over-ride risk scores, Discovery Agents and so much more.
Q. Are the PCI and HIPAA modules included in Network Detective Pro?
A. No. Those are legacy compliance assessment modules, now included in Compliance Manager GRC – a purpose-built IT security and privacy assurance and compliance tool. You have the option to upgrade to Network Detective Pro and also keep your legacy HIPAA and or PCI modules, but you will not receive any credit for Network Detective Pro, since there is no duplication or overlap.
Q. Can I trade-in my HIPAA or PCI modules for Compliance Manager?
A. While we do not have any formal “trade-in” or upgrade programs for Compliance Manager GRC in place today, we do want to encourage users of the old Network Detective HIPAA and PCI module users to use Compliance Manager GRC instead for a better experience and much more functionality. Compliance Manager has built-in Compliance Management templates for both HIPAA and PCI, as well as dozens of other standards. Plus, you can create your own standards to manage compliance with the IT requirements of cyber risk insurance policies, business contracts, or your own IT best practices. Q. What about my Inspector module. Can I trade that in, too?
A. Inspector is not a part of the Network Detective Upgrade program, since Inspector was spun out of Network Detective to become a much more powerful and comprehensive internal AND external vulnerability management solution we call VulScan. You can talk to your Account Manager about a similar “trade-up” program to move from Inspector to VulScan.
Q. How much does Network Detective Pro cost?
A. The 36-month discounted MSP list price for Network Detective Pro is just $499/mo. (compared to $895/mo. for the combined legacy subscriptions of Network, Security, Exchange, SQL, MS Cloud and Reporter) on a 36-month subscription. Plus, you get all the extra features and functions you’ve been missing. The price includes use of the product on up to 50 different sites, with additional sites just $9.99 per month.
Q. Do I have to sign up for 36-months?
A. No. 12-month subscriptions are available, but you won’t get the significant multi-year discount, and your price won’t be locked in for the long-term.
Q. How do I get credit for the legacy subscriptions I currently have?
A. That will be part of your quote and happen automatically when your Network Detective Pro Upgrade subscription starts. The credit takes the form of cancellation of any legacy modules you currently are paying for, including: Network Assessment, Security Assessment, Exchange Assessment, SQL Server Assessment, MS Cloud Assessment and Reporter subscriptions. HIPAA, PCI modules, and Inspector do not apply, but may be eligible for upgrades to other RapidFire Tools products.
Q. How do I get credit for the legacy subscriptions I currently have?

Q. What if I pre-paid my legacy module subscription(s)?
A. We will apply any unused pre-paid portion of your current subscriptions toward your new Network Detective Pro subscription on a pro-rata basis.
Q. What if my different modules have different expiration dates?
A. No problem! It doesn’t matter how much time is remaining on any of your existing subscriptions. They will be immediately cancelled when your new Network Detective Pro subscription starts, and you will have no further obligation on
Q. I’m paying more than $499/mo. for my legacy subscriptions now. Will I get any money back?
A. The maximum amount of “credit” that we can apply against Network Detective Pro for this special legacy upgrade program is $499. However, if the total of all your current Network Detective Module subscriptions that we cancel is more than $499, we can include additional Network Detective Pro licenses ($9.99/month each), or apply the extra credit to other software subscriptions (such as VulScan or Compliance Manager GRC), and then apply any remaining legacy subscription credits against those.
Q. If I upgrade, will all of my current sites and assessments and settings remain intact?
A. Yes. Everything will be seamlessly and automatically switched over for Network Detective Pro. If you add on Compliance Manager GRC to replace the ND HIPAA or PCI modules, you will need to set up a fresh set up as Compliance Manager GRC is more comprehensive.
Q. What if I’m now paying more than $499/mo. and I don’t want to add on VulScan or Compliance Manager GRC?
A. You can wait until your legacy subscriptions expire and upgrade later, or talk to your Account Manager for other trade-up options.
Q. If I upgrade, what kind of improvements can I expect over time?
A. You will see immediate improvement in the types and selection of reports you can generate, in the expanded depth of some of our assessments, and in the level of automation including our new Network Detective Pro discovery agents. But we have big plans for Network Detective Pro, and by upgrading now, you will automatically get access to the new innovations as they are released, including:
An online version of Network Detective Pro with interactive dashboards
Ad hoc/customized reporting
Improved exporting of filtered data into other applications
A completely modernized and updated user interface
More data collectors
More reports
